The information here is similar to the one you get from Stars! when you select a planet. The main differences are that you can "see" the habitability for a different race and access the simulation data which predicts the development.
This just a browser which allows you to read the simulation data for the currently selected planet. You can control which messages you get by means of the filtering window found in the racial reports.
This window is used to compute simulation of packet hits. It functions basically as PFC.exe or the Stars! calculator, with the advantage that the planet positions/populations/defenses are taken from the available data directly.
This window is used to estimate how many ships of a defined design will successfully survive a stargate travel. I'm not 100% sure of the formulae, so do not rely on them blindly.
